About Liz Foundation Indonesia

Liz Foundation Indonesia is a grassroots initiative born in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. Founded by local women, we work to empower communities by protecting seeds, forests, children, and culture. Our mission is rooted in ancestral wisdom and hope for future generations.

Why We Exist

Women sharing seeds and stories in a village circle

Behind Flores’ beauty lies a deep struggle. Women are often confined to the household. Children face barriers to education and safe spaces. Forests and water are under threat. And the traditional seeds that once sustained our people are disappearing.

Liz Foundation was created as a bridge — between tradition and modernity, between local needs and global solidarity.

Our Vision

A just, safe, and flourishing Flores
Where women and children live with dignity, opportunity, and love — and where nature, seeds, and ancestral knowledge are protected for future generations.

Portrait of Liz, founder of the foundation

“For generations, women in Flores have been the guardians of seeds — protecting food, culture, and identity. Today, that legacy is at risk. We must act now to protect the wisdom of our grandmothers and plant a new future together.”

— Liz, Founder
